My career began in April 1986 at CBRE as a Hotel & Commercial Real Estate Data Bank Coordinator. The work was to analyze existing and potential markets and to produce customized real estate and economic market analyses for sales professionals. I learned early that a market is not an opinion — it is a record, built transaction by transaction.
In 1988, through NYC market research, I tracked and analyzed commercial foreclosures exceeding $5M across the New York metropolitan area. Watching distressed assets move through the city taught me something no report could: every number on a page is a building, a loan, and a decision someone made.
I returned to CBRE in 1997 as a Senior Commercial Researcher, researching commercial real estate markets, transactions, tenants, developments, and property availability for internal and external clients.
Commercial property databases, quarterly market reports, economic analysis, field surveys, foreclosures and REO research — that foundation has carried everything I have done since. When I founded Miles Greve Group in 2012, the methods were the ones I learned on those New York research desks.
